Question:
If a stent has a blockage, can putting in another stent help?
If a stent in the left carotid artery has a blockage at both top and bottom of stent, can putting another stent in the artery really help?

The standard treatment for proven significant in-stent restenosis (narrowing) is to first place a cutting type balloon inside the stent to open it, and change the geometry of the narrowing, remove the balloon, then a new stent is placed inside.
