Question:
What is a perfusion deficit and can the condition be reversed?
Exactly what does "a mild, small sized reversible, basal to mid-anterior perfusion deficit" mean? What part of the heart can this be found in, plus how is it reversible? Thank you.

Answer:
by Texas Heart Institute cardiologist, Reynolds Delgado, MD
This indicates a small area on the front side of the heart that is not getting adequate blood flow during stress and may indicate blockage. Fortunately it is small. Would recommend seeing a cardiologist to assess the significance of it and whether it warrants further investigation or just medical management.
