Question:
Can someone with a biventricular pacemaker have a mammogram?
submitted by Jenny from Hampshire, England on 3/07/2011
Answer:
by Texas Heart Institute cardiologist, Raymond F. Stainback, MD
A mammogram may still be performed. The pacemaker leads should be well out of the field of evaluation. The mammogram uses very low level x-rays and these do not interfere with the pacemaker device.
