Former Houston Mayor Bob Lanier Recovering at the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital

HOUSTON - [July 12, 2006] Former Houston Mayor Bob Lanier was admitted to St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital after his defibrillator discharged, saving his life. Mayor Lanier is currently in stable condition in the coronary care unit of the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke’s. He is awake, alert and in good humor. Doctors plan to keep Mayor Lanier for three days for observation. The family is grateful for all of the prayers made on his behalf.
