As a part of Visual Communication Services, the video production team provides Betacam-SP field production and A/B-roll editing services. The team has produced live satellite video teleconferences from our operating rooms to audiences as far away as Japan and Israel.

Multimedia services include converting videotape to digital file formats (avi, mpg, jpeg, tif) for PowerPoint and print publication. Videotape duplication services are also available.

Within the department is the Heart Sounds Laboratory, a facility dedicated to the recording of patient examinations for diagnostic training purposes. This laboratory is the only one of its kind in the world, and hundreds of patient studies have been collected for the Texas Heart Institute's educational library.
